We’re seeking an experienced and visionary Service Manager to lead the council’s Adolescent Safeguarding Service and help drive positive outcomes for young people.
The council has introduced Family Safeguarding Practice across all children’s services — a strengths-based, whole-family approach to child protection. This model brings together dedicated multi-disciplinary teams from both children’s and adult services, working collaboratively to support families, reduce the need for care placements, and prevent children from becoming subject to child protection plans.
Your new role
- Service management oversight of care planning and management of care plans for children.
- Strategic support and oversight of development and improvement in the service.
- Oversight of MACE/ exploitation panels and responses.
- Management support to existing TMs and SMs.
- Support and oversight in terms of Legal pathways for children open within the service.
- Practice improvement and development in terms of management oversight and practice with families and children.
- Support to relaunch family safeguarding principles and practice within adolescent safeguarding.
- Support to the service with regards to OFSTED preparedness and readiness.
What you will need to succeed
- We are looking for a confident and passionate manager to act as a service manager through a secondment opportunity.
- As the service improvement service manager, you will drive performance across the adolescent safeguarding service, ensuring that the voice of the child and family group decision making is at the heart of our work, alongside creative, innovated and child centred planning, to keep children of all ages safe.
- We are looking for a candidate who has proven track experience in developing and managing partnerships and leading teams to help our children and families reach their aspirations and goals.
- The right candidate will manage a range of resources and budgets and be creative in delivering services which positively impact on the outcomes our children and young people and their families aspire to achieve.
