Job Purpose
We are currently working with a specialist consultancy delivering cutting-edge AI and software solutions into the UK National Security sector. Due to continued growth and the expansion of several mission-critical programmes, we are seeking an experienced AI Software Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and building secure, scalable AI-enabled software systems in a highly sensitive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- As an AI Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building AI-enabled software systems that support complex operational environments.
- You will develop scalable backend services, integrate machine learning models into production systems, and contribute to the architecture of secure, cloud-native platforms.
- You will work closely with data scientists, software engineers and security specialists, playing a key role in delivering robust and innovative solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Active UKSV DV clearance.
- Strong software engineering experience with Python.
- Proven experience building and deploying AI and machine learning applications.
- Knowledge of LLMs, NLP or generative AI frameworks.
- Experience with AWS or Azure.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working in secure or highly regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and API design.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with RAG pipelines and vector databases.
- Knowledge of MLOps tooling and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to Palantir Foundry or similar data platforms.
- Experience working on National Security or Defence programmes.
