Job Purpose
We are working with a well-established and highly respected civil engineering contractor based in Birmingham, recognised for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across the West Midlands.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for a significant element of a major heavy civils scheme in Coventry. You will play a key role in ensuring robust cost control, effective risk management, and strong commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full commercial responsibility for a large-scale civil engineering project.
- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost value reconciliations.
- Procure and manage subcontractors and supply chain partners.
- Administer contracts, variations, valuations, and final accounts.
- Support and mentor junior commercial staff.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, planning, and site teams to drive value and mitigate risk.
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree, HNC, HND, or similar qualification in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience.
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering and drainage delivery.
- A sound working knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing subcontractors, commercial risk, and project cashflow.
- A full UK driving licence.
